A visionary leader in the field of medicine and education, currently serving as an Emergency Specialist and Core Faculty at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. With a passion for innovation and a dedication to his profession, he has been instrumental in managing critical patients and teaching postgraduate students in emergency medicine. His exceptional contributions have earned him the prestigious SEHA hero award from the UAE Government, highlighting his significant impact in the field.100 consultants, 30 junior doctors and over 750 staff. From a small mother and child hospital, it has become a tertiary care hospital with more than 30 clinical departments and 300 beds.
In 2002, PRS Hospital was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification. The hospital was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 standards in 2011., and recently upgraded to the latest ISO 9001:2015 standards in 2016. PRS Hospital also has the prestigious NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation since 2013.
Dr. Ashish Salim
Dr. Ashish Salim is a distinguished expert in both pediatric and adult emergency medicine, holding a specialized degree in pediatric emergency medicine. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief and Clinical Safety Officer at PRS Hospital Trivandrum, and as an Associate Professor in the Emergency Department at Dr. SMCSI Medical College, Karakonam, Trivandrum. His extensive experience and commitment to the field are further exemplified by his roles as Secretary of SEMI Kerala and IMA Kovalam.
Dr. Salim is renowned for his exceptional teaching capabilities, having educated over 200 students who now practice across the globe. He is celebrated for simplifying complex medical concepts, often using flow charts to facilitate learning. His expertise extends to regional anesthesia, and he has spearheaded numerous quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing medical practice standards.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Salim has several indexed publications to his name, contributing valuable insights to the field of emergency medicine. He is also a certified faculty member at the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Centre, where he trains healthcare professionals in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
